BAe Hawker Siddley Nimrod MR1

The Nimrod MR.1 has an airframe which is based on the de Havilland Comet 4C. It's primary mission is one of anti-submarine, anti-shipping warfare and surveillance. Two of the engines can be shut down for extended endurance. The first two prototypes flew in May of 1967.

Engines; (four) 54 kN (12,140 lbs. st) Rolls-Royce RB. 168-20 Spey Mk 250 turbofans, Wing Span; 35 m. (114' 10"), Length 38.63 m. (126' 9") Maximum take-off weight; 87,090 kg. (192,000 lbs.), Maximum Speed; 880 km/h (547 mph.), Endurance 12 hours.
